You will write longer documents in the workplace. By completing the recommendation report, you will learn about the various parts that comprise a long report and practice formatting and arranging a long document.

  1. Review the information you should include in your report on the Recommendation Report Criteria page.
  2. Use the information in the textbook and on the Tip Sheet: Recommendation Report to compose your document.
  3. Return to your Recommendation Report Outline and begin adding information to the document until you have included all of the sections listed in the following substeps:
    1. Compose the body of your Recommendation Report:

    2. Compose the Front Matter for your Recommendation Report:

Title Page: List the title, author, and date as well as the recipient. 3. Abstract: Provide a brief technical summary for readers familiar with the topic. 4. Table of Contents: List headings and sub-headings with page numbers or links. 5. Executive Summary: Summarize the background, findings, and implications for management.

    3. Compose the Back Matter of your Recommendation Report:

  4. Success Tip
    You should be able to answer “True” to each question before you submit your work to the Full Draft Submission. If you do not meet each of the criteria listed, your draft will be marked Incomplete and you’ll need to revise.

      • Return to your draft and revise so that you can answer “True.”

        • If you did not answer “True” to every question, continue revising until you can.
