What You Need to Do
Success Tip
You can use the online texts, any notes that you have, and the available course pages in Canvas for help as you work on these questions. You can also talk to one another.
Your meeting has three large goals:
- Decide on your final major project as a group.
- Share progress on your work.
- Plan for your formal Progress Report to me on your work to date.
How This Activity Connects to the Course
You’ve been working together for five weeks now, since March 3rd. Your final project (whether the Recommendation Report or the Fact Sheet Collection) has a Target Due Date of April 29, and the Final Grace Period ends on May 2.
This week’s work focuses on reviewing the work you’ve completed so far and planning for the rest of the term.
You’ll use your work this week in these ways:
- You’ll check the status of research and other work on the Recommendation Report.
- You’ll update your plans for writing, revising, and submitting your final project.
- You’ll begin drafting your Progress Report, which I updated to be
due next week.
How to Do It
Preparing for Your Week 11 Group Meeting
- Connect with the members of your group to arrange a meeting time that fits everyone’s schedules. You can meet using whatever system works best for your group.
Show/Hide Ways to Meet
- Gather in a Zoom or Teams meeting.
- Post ideas in a Canvas Group Discussion. The following links can help you:
- Meet in person on campus or another convenient location.
- Review the posts in the Try-It #20: Primary Research Discussion and the Try-It #21: Secondary Research Discussion so you are ready to discuss your research together.
- Read or view the information on Progress Reports in the Week 11 Readings to prepare for the work you need to plan and do with your group this week.
During Your Week 11 Group Meeting
- Meet with your group as scheduled to decide on your Choice for the Final Project and begin your Progress Report.
- Choose a group member to keep minutes for your meeting, using the information on the Meeting Minutes Format page to record your group’s decisions.
- Complete the tasks listed in the Week 11 Meeting Agenda. As you work through the items, record your decisions in your Meeting Minutes.
After Your Week 11 Group Meeting
- Submit your Week 11 Meeting Minutes as a PDF here once your meeting adjourns.
- Group Leader: Make an Announcement in your Group doing the following:
- Title the Announcement: Week 11 Meeting Minutes.
- Add any notes from the Minutes that you want to highlight as important.
- Attach a copy of your Week 11 Meeting Minutes.
Placing this information in an Announcement ensures that everyone has access to the minutes and the decisions that your group has made.
Assessment
I will assess group members individually based on their participation. I will mark your participation in this Discussion Complete (or Incomplete) after the end of the Grace Period passes and I confirm that you added a reply to this Discussion. Allow me several days to read and mark all your posts.
