Why I Want You to Do It

With an asynchronous online class, keeping in touch is critical, so every week I ask you to check-in by answering some questions about your work.

This is a private discussion, just between you and me. No one else can access it.

Questions to Answer

Write a post that lets me know how you are doing and tells me what you need help with as you work on your assignments.

Please copy these questions into your message and then add your responses below each one:

1. What wins have you had this week? They don’t have to be related to the class, but they can be.
2. Paste me a few sentences from your Technical Description draft and choose one of the following ways to comment on it:
   • If you have a question about the passage, ask it.
   • If you are especially happy with the passage, tell me why.
3. Next week we focus the Instructions Assignment. What topics are you considering?
4. What questions do you have for me? [I’ll always include this question.]

Watch for My Response

• My reply should be available by Monday if you post your message by the suggested due date.
• I’ll try to clear up anything you’re unsure of, give you advice on what you’re writing, and generally make sure that you stay on course.
• I may ask follow-up questions that I want you to respond to, so be sure that you check the response in a timely manner.
